£250 deposit required when booking to secure a day - remaining balance on completion. Alternatively, drop vehicle off and pay balance on completion and it will be fit around other work but may take a few days.

Transits are still the biggest selling vans in the country, but have in recent years had an issue with the 'wet belts' failing prematurely - snapping or stripping teeth causing engine damage. Ford responded by reducing the recommended service interval (below), however unofficially it is recommended sooner.

Pictures (right) are from actual vans i've done belt changes on and not stock images. Many i've seen have had severe cracking and some minor splits across the entire width of the belt. Debris has been built up in the oil strainer in all cases, even the better belts. Get your belt replaced sooner rather than later - afterall the price for the change is better than the £3-£5k bill for repairing the engine, if your lucky enough for a piston to not crack that is.
 

Interval:

Service recommendation: 100k miles or 6 years

We recommend replacing no later than 80k or 5yrs or more often where driving styles involve a lot of urban driving.

How long does it take:

I need to vehicle the full day. Ideally across two days - this is to allow longer for the silicone to fully cure, ensuring no leaks from sump or cover.
 

What's included:

Aswell as Ford recommended components, I also replace the intermediate pulley bolt & oil pump belt due to the increasing number of failures causing engine damage on these bolts. Many garages do not replace these as they are not part of the official schedule, so if choosing other service providers I recommend you ensure they are including this as part of their service.

Oil filter is also replaced as standard and an oil service stamp can be stamped in your service book if you have one.
